"Quiche is a French-style tart composed of a pastry crust filled with salted custard and pieces of cheese, meat, seafood or vegetables. The best known variant is Quiche Lorraine, which includes bacon. Quiche may be served warm or cold."
Well, quiche is one of those recipes that look super delicious when it comes to serving, but because of its gastronomic aspect, people imagine it's complicated to make, however, it's not. It's a great meal for lunch or dinner and if you know how to accompany it properly, it may get your guests' fingers lick.
Let's look at it.
50 Minutes
4 portions
How to make
INGREDIENTS ✅ 2 Big Potato ✅ 4 Small Mushrooms ✅ 1/2 Cucumber ✅ 1/2 Yellow Pepper
✅ 1/2 Orange or red Pepper
✅ Shredded cheese
✅ 1/4 Carrots
✅ Olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400F and boil salty water in a pot
Step 2
Chop the potatoes in thin slices and the vegetables
Step 3
Add the sliced potatoes to the boiling water and cook it al dente. Remove and place them in a strainer in cold water, so that they are not overcooked.
Step 4
Separately, in a frying pan, pour the cut vegetables and add some seasonings such as; garlic, coriander, cumin, paprika, onion, Italian herbs, etc. Let them cook for 5 minutes, allowing them to catch the seasoning flavors.
Step 5 While the vegetables cook, apart, in a bowl crack 4 large eggs. Add 2 tbsp of wheat flour, 1 ounce of almond milk, and beat well by hand. The Almond Milk and the flour will provide a softer texture.
Step 6 Choose an ovenproof dish and brush it with oil to prevent the quiche from sticking. Add half of the potatoes first, then add the roasted vegetables, and finally, add the remaining potatoes. Now, take the quiche to the oven and bake for 20-25 min until the egg has dried. To check if it is ready, stick a clean and dry knife in the center of the quiche, if it comes out clean, it is time to remove it from the oven
Step 7
Put the oven tray on a circle cork pan or a surface that does not burn. Add the grated cheese to the quiche and return to the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted, allowing this to take on this provocative golden color.
Step 8
Take the quiche out of the oven, put it in a safe place, let it cool down if you prefer cold, or cut right after if you prefer to serve it warm. In my case, I cut it into four parts.
Beverage pairing
Quiche is best with higher-acid reds or full-bodied but bright whites such as concentrated and fruity red; Also the Champagne acidity and bubbles match it perfectly
Accompaniments
The portion can be accompanied by any salad, as well as ricotta cheese and pesto toast, just like in the video.
